       Praised for her versatility and agility, American mezzo-soprano Jessica Vadney has performed most recently with Utopia Opera as Mary in Ballad of Baby Doe and in Eugene Onegin, as well as made a role debut as Marguerite (Faust) with New York Opera Theater. Recent engagements include: with New York Opera Theater as Tatiana (Eugene Onegin), as Rosalinde (Die Fledermaus) at Whitman Theater, with Brooklyn Opera covering Croybl (Thaïs), Creative Opera Company NYC and Opera-Night Opera Company as Donna Elvira in an abridged version of Don Giovanni, and as soprano soloist in Faure Requiem. Past engagements include: internationally with Opera Guadalajara as Suor Angelica (Suor Angelica), and opera highlights with the Orquesta Sinfónica Juvenil de Zapopan. She has performed with the Castleton Festival working under the baton of Maestro Lorin Maazel in Verdi’s Otello and as the cover of Elle (La voix humaine), Dorabella (Così fan tutte) with Toronto Opera Workshop and Petite Opera Illinois, La Suora Infermiera and Suora Dolcina (Sour Angelica) with Opera Siena in Italy, and partial roles as Rosalina (Die Fledermaus) and Donna Anna (Don Giovanni) with Castleton Festival, Violetta (La Traviata) and Fiordiligi (Così fan tutte) with Druid City Opera, and with OperaWorks in Los Angeles’s premier of The Cloud. She has been seen at Avery Fisher Hall as a soloist with Distinguished Concerts International NY, in Die Zauberflöte as First Woman, was featured in Northern Illinois University’s ‘Broadway Dreams’, as soprano soloist in Dvořák’s Stabat Mater, Mozart’s C Minor Mass, and as a frequent soloist with Rutger’s Presbyterian Church.

 

       In her time with the US Navy, Jessica was also a soloist and the conductor of the Blue Jacket Memorial Choir at Great Lakes Naval Base, Illinois. With her versatile background she has been awarded the Outstanding TANYS (Theater Association of New York State) Award for her performance as Irene Molloy (Hello Dolly) with Schenectady Light Opera House, was a prize winner in the Casa Italia Vocal Scholarship of 2011, 2nd Place in the Rachmaninoff Music Competition 2017, the Grand Prize Winner for the Italian Executives of Transportation Vocal Prize in 2012, and winner of the Northern Illinois Concerto Competition in 2013.
